How Lille remembers Azar, the 'world's first burger striker'.

"Naming a training ground after him + launching the Azar burger"

LOSC Lille, a prestigious French Ligue 1 club, has named its training center after former Ligue 1 legend Edouard Azar.

'ESPN' reported on Nov. 11 (KST), "Lille has named its training center after Ajaar. Azar joined the Lille academy in 2005 and played until 2012, winning the Ligue 1 and League Cup titles in 2011."

Azar is a Belgian winger. He has played in both the French Ligue 1 and English Premier League (EPL). He is best known for his ability to dribble at a 100% efficiency level with fine ball control, agility, and good speed. Azar started his soccer career with the youth team of the Royal Stade Bryno club.

He joined the French club Lille Youth (2005-2007) from AFC Tubizé and made his professional debut for Lille in 2007 at the age of 16. Azar became the youngest Ligue 1 MVP in history in the 2010-11 season. Lille also won the league title for the first time in 56 years. In 2011-12, he was named MVP for the second consecutive season, scoring 20 goals and providing 18 assists in 38 regular-season games.

Azar made his Premier League debut in 2012 in a Chelsea shirt. He finished the 2012-13 season with 13 goals and 20 assists in 62 games, helping Chelsea win the UEFA Europa League. By 2014-15, he had scored double-digit goals in three consecutive seasons and was named PFA Player of the Year, FWA Player of the Year, and Premier League Player of the Year.

After a down year in 2015-16 with just six goals and seven assists in 43 games, he bounced back with 17 goals and seven assists in 43 games in 2016-17 to help 토토 Chelsea win their second Premier League title. Azpilicueta scored 110 goals and provided 82 assists in 352 games for Chelsea until 2018-19, when he left for Real Madrid after winning the Europa League in his final season.

However, Azar fell apart at Real. A failure to take care of himself was the main culprit. He gained seven kilos from his Chelsea days, which slowed down his movements and earned him the nickname 'Fatty'. In the end, Azar only managed seven goals and nine assists in 76 games over four seasons at Real, and he announced his retirement before the end of the season.

Azpilicueta's performances at Real have overshadowed his time at Lille and Chelsea. Even after his retirement, he is still considered one of the best players in soccer history. Even Gareth Bale, who missed a lot of games due to injury, did better than Azar. His €100 million Real club record transfer fee was nothing to write home about.

In short, he's one of the best examples of a lazy genius gone bad. Azar is known for his love of hamburgers. He was once photographed leaving the field after a red card and eating a burger at a fast food restaurant. So much so, that Lille even launched an "Azhar burger" and used it in their marketing.

Nevertheless, Lille made sure to honor the club legend. They even named their training center after him. Azar, who announced his retirement last year, was in attendance for Lille's Ligue 25 match against Stade Rennes on November 11th. "Lille will be offering cups with his image and burgers with his unique number," the club announced on social media.
